Newquay does cater for other activities besides surfing. As there are large waves breaking onto the beach, there is the opportunity to endure in some wind surfing, kite surfing, and even some kayaking when the waves aren’t too large! The annual Boardmasters festival takes place at Fistral Beach each year which pulls surfers and skaters together, showcasing their skills! There are also volleyball courts on several of the beaches, meaning that it is certain that there will be something for you to like.

The Grand Isle State Park that provides interpretive programs to help you learn about the wildlife and plants of the area. There are sand-volleyball courts to keep both the kids and the folks actively playing while the little ones play on the playground equipment.  Maybe you want to take a try at horseshoe and see if you remember how to play or have someone teach you the game, it’s really fun.

There are lots of places on the island that you can get away by yourself and just enjoy the peace and quite of the woods and water.  Sit and look out over the lake and let your mind wander and relax.  Being in nature can make the rest of the crazy world just kind of drift away for awhile and when you have a beautiful island to enjoy it makes it all the better.
